Life’s so unpredictable, and that’s the beauty of life.
Life has this funny way of constantly throwing you a curveball (or two) especially when you think you have life all figured out. This curveball has without a doubt helped to keep me grounded and on guard, it’s what makes life so exciting and scary!
‘Resilience’ has been a consistent theme in my adult life, I’ve reinvented myself over and over again. From Fashion designer to Flight Attendant, I’ve done it all. And the past year has been no different, that’s why I want to apologise for the absence of articles.
“I ended up stressing about the finances and lost focus of my passion.”
These last few months have been inconsistent and busy. You’ll remember if you’ve been reading my journals that last year I took a “leap of faith” to become a freelance writer. Well, I’m not going to sit here and say it was all sunshine and rainbows, that thing called working for yourself is tough. Yes, I got to work my passion EVERYDAY but, the bottom line is it’s stressful when you don’t have a constant stream of regular income, I ended up stressing about the finances and lost focus of my passion.
All I’m trying to say is to be thankful for the job you have, it’s guaranteed that you’ll have days when you may not always like your work, but it helps to support you. And… If you’re like me and have passions that you want to turn into businesses one day, then keep treating your passion project as a side hustle until you’re positive you can ‘survive’ and afford to not pay yourself as long as it takes to build your business.
“Be at peace with your imperfect life, and try to define perfect anyway!?”
Don’t listen to any of this ‘leap of faith’ BS. Just like ‘work/ life balance’ in my opinion, it doesn’t exist. There will always be some inconsistencies in daily life, especially if you are trying to build a successful career or business. Be at peace with your imperfect life, just try to define perfect anyway!? Well, all this to say I’m back, baby!
